What is the current situation? Anyone wanting to buy a PS5 currently needs a lot of luck. Interested users are battling scalpers and other buyers for each available console. Currently, there are few opportunities to buy a PS5. In many places, the last online sale was a whole two months ago, as is the case with Müller.
January 2022 was one of the weakest months for those wanting to purchase a PS5. There were hardly any drops, and many users still want to buy a next-gen console. And so far, February doesn’t look much better.

What speaks for new PS5 drops? Currently, the sales situation is very poor, and there are hardly any promotions where one could buy a PS5. However, there could be opportunities this week at some shops.
- Since this morning, the drugstore chain has been naming a pickup date if you look at the PS5 product page and select a store nearby. The dates range from 17.02. to 21.02. and possibly beyond, depending on the store. Therefore, PS5 restocks are expected in the coming days.
- Amazon is currently raffling off Horizon: Forbidden West in the Collector’s Edition along with a PS5 Disc Edition. We therefore suspect that new contingents will arrive here shortly as well.
The longer the last drop is in the past, the higher the chance that sellers will have PS5 consoles available again. It has been almost three weeks since Amazon offered a PS5 for sale, while at Müller it has already been over two months. The last three drops from Müller last year all occurred promptly at 08:30 AM. Therefore, we assume that the earliest it will happen is on Wednesday, February 15, 2022.
