Appalachia has many strange places and activities to offer. Fallout 76 thus joins the humor of the popular series. One particularly quirky attraction is a very special catapult.
What you can discover: In the southeast of the map, there is a small Raider camp on a hill. From there, a small inconspicuous path leads to a plateau. On the plateau, there are three improvised catapults. When you activate these catapults, you can launch corpses into the air.
Macabre: The Corpse Catapults in Fallout 76
Where can I find the catapult? Far south of the Savage Divide and southwest of the Cranberry Bog, you will find Johnson’s Field. The location is northeast of the bear campfire, which is one of the creepiest places in Fallout 76 that we have found. The name is somewhat misleading, as it is actually a hunting lodge on a cliff.
Scattered around the lodge are a few benches and items to be found. Eliminate the few enemies who await you there and turn left when you look down the slope. There is a small wooden staircase.
Go up the stairs. Behind it is a narrow stone path that leads to the small plateau. On the plateau, you will find the catapults, a small supply of corpses (which is just for decoration) and, with a bit of luck, one of the coveted Power Armors in the Raider variant.
This is how the catapults work: The catapults themselves are not real catapults. They are improvised machines, presumably set up by members of the Raider faction. A Raider corpse can be found directly behind the catapults.
The launch area of the catapults consists of spike traps, which you can also build to defend your camp. The traps snap forward when triggered and actually deal damage to the target.
The spike traps are connected to dynamite ignition machines. If you pull the lever down, you launch the “catapult” and fling the corpse placed on it through the air.
However, you cannot reload and reset the catapults yourself. The currently fastest way to launch the corpses again is likely “server hopping”.
Have you tried the catapults yet?
