Vex Builds in Borderlands 4 are currently being heavily discussed, as the Siren has the potential to wipe out powerful bosses in seconds. How?
Borderlands launched last week and over the weekend, many players started exploring the new planet Kairos.
In doing so, they have the choice between Amon, Harlowe, Rafa, and Vex. And it is especially the latter – the Siren who had a really terrible day at the cash register – that is making headlines right now.
Players are finding that she has the potential to take down even bosses with just a few actions. One such example can currently be seen on Reddit, where a boss is defeated by a single shotgun shot.
How do you build such a Vex build? We set out to find different examples. The variant from content creator Moxsy on YouTube seems to be quite popular.
How to build a Vex build with so much damage?
This is crucial for Vex: Vex comes with skill trees that focus on the “bleed” effect. In short, this effect can be activated repeatedly and deals increasing kinetic damage over time.
This allows for damage numbers that essentially no enemy can counter.
Moxsy calls his version of the build “Bleed Witch” and shows on YouTube how he melts enemies, bosses, and basically everything in the game within seconds with the build. You can check out the video here, and we summarize the key points below.
This is how the Vex build works
Moxsy primarily focuses on the green “Vexcalation” skill tree. He emphasizes that the blue “Here Comes Trouble” tree may be better for beginners, but Vexcalation is the right choice once you have gathered some gear.
He builds his skill tree like this:
- Action Skill: Incarnation
- Draining Tune: 5 Points
- Bloodletting: 5 Points
- This stackable effect is important for exploiting “bleed”.
- Energy Vampire: Select Upgrade
- Material Component: 5 Points
- Grave Vitality: 5 Points
- Essence Drain: 5 Points
- Blood is Power: 3 Points
- Finishing Point: Heart Piercer
- Grave Harvest: Select Upgrade
Switch to the red tree “Here Comes Trouble”.
- Enchanting: 5 Points
Switch to the blue tree “The Fourth Seal”.
- Idle Hands: 3 Points
- Cold Iron: 2 Points
- Omen of Sorrow: 5 Points
- Grave Speed: 5 Points
- Prisma Wound Secret: 1 Point
Now you have distributed all available skill points.
Weapons: Moxsy primarily focuses on Jakobs weapons, as many of them can cause “bleed”. Moxsy demonstrates in his video how he deals damage in the millions with the right weapons.
The most important piece of equipment, however, is a throwing knife. He uses the “Booming Vivisecting Throwing Knife”. The key feature is the “Penetrator” upgrade, which you can find on various knives. This ensures that all your hits are critical hits for five seconds – including those from status effects or action skills. This allows the “bleed” effect to trigger continuously and then trigger again by itself. This creates insane damage numbers.
However, even without the knife, the build already deals good damage when you trigger bleed.
The Siren Vex is clearly hard to surpass in terms of damage with the right build. However, other characters can also offer extremely fun variants that allow you to get into the game well. Gravitar Harlowe, for example, relies on technical elements to take down her enemies. You can find a strong build for Harlowe at the start of Borderlands 4 here.
