In Borderlands 4, as a true vault hunter, you want to open the secret vaults. For that, you need the key fragments. Where to find them, you will learn here.
What are the fragments for? If you collect 3 fragments each, you can open a total of 3 secret vaults that give you buffs for your glider once you complete them. The vaults are optional but provide not only buffs but also an increased chance for legendary loot.
We have compiled where you can find the necessary key fragments so that you don’t have to search for too long.
All Locations for the Vaults & Key Fragments
In total, you can find 9 key fragments and 3 vault entrances at the following locations:
Vault Entrance “Arc of Origo” (Terminus Range)

Once you have grabbed the 3 fragments in the Terminus Range you will find the entrance in a cave in the south of the Low Leys. The exact location will be shown to you on the map.
Fragment #1: The Low Leys

To the west of the Low Leys at the arena, you will find the first fragment for the vault in the Terminus Range. You need to climb an elevated ledge with your grappling hook, on which you will find the fragment.
Fragment #2: Windspear

You will find this fragment in the Vestral Garrison in the command room behind a door to the south.
Fragment #3: Cuspid Climb

For this fragment, you need to take control of the southern Order Silo “The Reliquary”. With the balloon you get from it, you can glide to a cliff that leads you to the cave where you will find the fragment.
For the Vault Entrance “Arc of Inceptus” (Fadefields)

You will find the entrance in the west of the Stillshore as soon as you have the key. The exact location will be shown to you on the map.
Fragment #4: Coastal Bonescape

You can find this fragment on a chest behind a house in the south-west of the Coastal Bonescape. Search for it in the direction of the sea. There you will find a staircase on a porch where the chest is located.
Fragment #5: The Howl

Search for this fragment in a cave in the east of the area “The Howl”.
Fragment #6: Idolators’ Noose

For this fragment, you must go into the sewers. You need to open a shaft with your grappling hook that you will find near the tanks.
For the Vault Entrance “Arc of Radix” (Carcadia)

You will find this vault in the north-west at the Grinder of the Worthy. The exact location will be shown to you on the map.
Fragment #7: Lopside

You will find this fragment on the roof of a gas station in the Lopside. It is located on a table.
Fragment #8: Tonnage Peel

You will find the fragment in the Tonnage Peel at the wreck in a tunnel where you need to open a shaft with your grappling hook.
Fragment #9: Ruined Sumplands

You will find this fragment in the north of the Ruined Sumplands on a wall with golden decorations.
These Rewards You Get for the Vaults
To complete each vault, you need to defeat some waves of enemies and finally a tough boss. Then you can claim the rewards as your own. If you complete the vaults and defeat the enemies and bosses within, the following upgrades for your glider await you, along with potentially legendary loot:
- Arc of Origo | Terminus Range
- Glide gauge empties 50% slower
- Arc of Inceptus | Fadefields
- Glide gauge regenerates faster overall
- Arc of Radix | Carcadia
- Glide gauge starts regenerating faster
