Just a few weeks before the release of Borderlands 4, the loot shooter gets a live-action trailer. This showcases, according to fans, impressively how a good Borderlands movie could look.
What does the trailer show? It starts with a man sitting in his car, staring into space. In the background, the radio is playing, and the radio announcer paints a picture of an Earth that people just want to leave.
The show begins with the words: “And now a break from our sponsor.” Then it says: Artificial intelligence has already taken jobs away from people in this world, “and makes them better.” Temperatures hit a high of 100 degrees – not Fahrenheit, but Celsius.
Then a voice from off-screen addresses the man. The camera pans over, and at the wheel sits … a dog. It advises him: “Quit Earth,” meaning “leave Earth.” The man then sets that as his goal.
What follows is pure chaos: People are packing their things and heading to the spaceships to leave Earth behind. Furniture is flying out of windows, guns are running around and shooting wildly. An elephant, moving as if in stop-motion, also races through the city streets.

Fans love this trailer: It is crazy, chaotic, and feels like a fever dream – exactly what Borderlands fans want. Moreover, it possesses a charm that many older video game advertisements had. At least, that’s what many comments on the trailer say on YouTube.
