In Borderlands 4, there is the rare currency “Eridium”. You only get it very slowly, but there are tricks to farm it. How you can achieve this efficiently is shown in our guide.
Where do I spend Eridium? During your journey through Kairos, you will encounter the resource “Eridium” through completing missions and challenges, as well as randomly in the world. This rare material now has a completely different function compared to its predecessor. With the currency, you can now acquire three things:
- Reset boss fights with Moxxi’s machine
- Reset specializations
- Firmware transfer
With Moxxi’s machine, you can now respawn a boss fight without having to reload your instance – but the procedure costs Eridium.
It is also possible to reset your specializations. There is a machine for this in various camps, which you can use for some Eridium.
Lastly, you will sooner or later encounter the former vault hunter “Zane” while progressing through the main story. This guy has developed a special machine that allows you to merge two weapons. This procedure also costs Eridium.
Now you know where to spend the currency, but to become powerful in the endgame, you should stock up on Eridium. We will show you 3 ways to farm the resource.
Farming Eridium – Here’s how to do it quickly
To quickly get Eridium, you should complete the jobs on the notice boards in the countless camps and safehouses. These range from contract killings to sabotage missions and provide you with Eridium and money quickly and with little effort.
Importantly, some contract killings will send you into battle against crystallized enemies, who will give you a higher Eridium yield when you defeat them – these jobs are rare.
Another option to obtain Eridium is to complete challenges from your menu. The challenges are tied to your character or weapons, and you must, for example, accumulate kills or land critical hits.
Another option that we would rather not recommend, but still want to mention, is the repetition of story missions from the campaign. Here, too, you will receive a small amount of Eridium, but the missions can become tedious over time and often take a long time to complete.
