There are some new challenges in Borderlands 3. This requires new builds. Here is a suggestion if you play as the Siren Amara.
These are the new challenges: With the big November patch came not only Mayhem 4, but also the Maliwan Takedown into the game.
The Takedown is intended as a challenge for four players. Accordingly, the difficulty level is quite tough and leaves many players frustrated. Nevertheless, some players have already managed to complete the Takedown solo. The important part: the right build.
Amara Build for Maliwan Takedown
This build is also suitable for solo: As the first of the four Vault Hunters, we look at a build for Amara today. The reddit user Jonathan Baker uploaded a video on YouTube showing how he defeats the raid boss Wotan completely alone with Amara.
This is what the build looks like: Maliwan Takedown is primarily designed for four players, all of whom have reached the maximum level. Therefore, the build can only be performed at level 50. It is mainly based on the skill tree “Elemental Fist” but also includes the other trees.
Elemental Fist Skill Tree
These skills you need from “Elemental Fist”: Elemental Fist provides the action skill for the build. This is the enhanced Phasegrasp in the form of the action skill “A Bond Against Life”. The following skills are added:
- Anima
- Storm
- Fires of Life
- Grasp Hunter
- Arbitrary
- Abundant Source
- Life Sustain
- Strong Expression
This build ensures that Amara deals a significant amount of elemental damage while simultaneously regenerating health points.
Hand-to-Hand Skill Tree
These skills you need from “Hand-to-Hand”: The red skill tree is supplemented by additional abilities from the green skill tree. These are the following skills you should distribute your points into:
- Growth Root
- Intimacy
- Clarity
- Helping Hands
- Mindfulness
Intimacy primarily increases your damage at close range, Helping Hands provides damage reduction. Through Mindfulness, your shields are reinforced and movement speed is increased. Thus, the skill tree primarily helps you stay alive as long as possible during the Takedown.
Mystical Attack Skill Tree
These skills you need from “Mystical Attack”: From “Mystical Attack”, you get some additional skills that mainly improve the action skill. These are:
- Intoxicated
- Brutality Rug
- Ascendancy
- Mind Stillness
Intoxicated and Brutality Rug grant you “Intoxication Stacks” that increase action skill damage and effect chance. Ascendancy enhances the effects of your action skill expansions.
Which items are used? Jonathan Baker uses weapons in his walkthrough that enhance various effects. The “Binary Mocking Cutsman”, for instance, adds bonus damage against particularly strong enemies, such as the Anointed or bosses, at the end of the action skills.
Additionally, he uses a shotgun that is very effective against shields and deals Cryo damage. Useful against Maliwan soldiers! Strong “Recursion” weapons that bounce off enemies and deal particularly high damage are also included.
Especially strong is the Anointed “Transformer” shield which converts shock damage into shields. It also absorbs bullets and has the Terror effect. The legendary “_TEMP_Spectral Phasezerker” Class Mod also enhances important points in the skill tree.
It shows: In addition to a good build, strong equipment is also necessary to tackle the Maliwan Takedown solo. Because even with the perfect build, the raid remains a tough challenge.
