Blizzard is not only taking action in WoW or Overwatch. Even at BlizzCon 2017, they acted against trolls. Anyone who was mean in the chat was immediately kicked out of the convention!
In the times of internet anonymity, players regularly receive insults in the various chats of World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and others.
But at BlizzCon, a different atmosphere prevailed. Those who wanted to could play the latest cards and expansions directly at Blizzard’s convention. Naturally, there was also a lot of chatting. However, not everyone behaved appropriately. Some mothers were insulted, and a few obscenities also flew through the virtual space.
Those who troll can leave!
Blizzard did not like this – and had prepared accordingly. All chats at the demo booths were permanently monitored. Anyone who misbehaved in the chat at the demo booths soon found some security staff behind them. The respective trolls were immediately escorted to the exit and expelled from the convention center. Additionally, their “badge,” the pass for access to the convention, was taken away.
The streamer Broximar observed this at BlizzCon and apparently enjoyed it.
What’s particularly amusing is that the badges are linked to the corresponding Battle.net accounts. It is therefore possible that the accounts of the convention trolls might also face sanctions later on.
Cortyn says: I think I would be quite frustrated if I traveled halfway around the world to see BlizzCon, only to be banned for a stupid comment in the chat. However, one can be sure that these players have probably learned their lesson now. So, I like it!
