With Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4 has received numerous new contents. Among them are achievements and titles that you can earn. However, one of these new achievements seems impossible to achieve: You are supposed to kill over 6 million goblins. Players suspect that there must be a goblin level involved.
Why should I kill treasure goblins?
- The achievement “Arch-nemesis of all treasure goblins” is a new challenge. You can find it among the heroics.
- For the achievement, you need to eliminate 6,666,666 treasure goblins. As a reward, you get the title: “Opulent Goblin Soul”.
- Although Blizzard has hosted events in the past with more treasure goblins than usual, players are certain that the achievement is currently impossible.
Why is this taking so long? On Reddit, users calculated how long it would actually take for the achievement. Because even against “normal” opponents, which can be found everywhere, you would just barely reach over a million by the end of a season.
However, treasure goblins are extremely rare. If you find one every hour, you are already among the luckier ones. The users calculate:
- Even if you were to find a goblin every 30 seconds, the achievement would take over 6 years – non-stop!
- Even if you were to kill a goblin every second, you would need over 2 months for the achievement.
- If you somehow managed to eliminate 500 goblins per minute, you would still need to play for 9 consecutive days.
A somewhat more realistic assumption, which is still unlikely, would keep you busy until retirement. If you find “only” one goblin every 2 minutes – which is also utopian – and play 12 hours a day, you would end up with 48 years of game time.
Goblin-level confirmed?
Users joke: This is a task for generations. You become a goblin hunter, just like your father and his father before him. Others think that without an exploit, it’s not possible. But some users suspect that this is a clear hint towards a goblin level.
This is quite likely. There are already smaller goblin levels: You have the chance to find a small goblin horde in every cellar. However, there might only be 3 goblins there, so even that would take forever.
It’s faster to use the ‘Goblin Rifts’ in the Hell hordes. Here there is a small chance that dozens of goblins will spawn in one wave. However, even that would probably not be enough to complete the achievement in a reasonable time.
You need something that works like the treasure chamber of goblins from Diablo 3, just much larger.
Whether there will ever really be a goblin level in Diablo 4 is something we do not know. Secret levels are part of the game.
