A week before the launch of Vessel of Hatred, the new expansion for Diablo 4, Blizzard drops a new live-action trailer. It showcases the jungles of Nahantu and the Spiritborn – and makes fans crave a whole movie about it.
On October 8, 2024, Vessel of Hatred will be the first expansion for Diablo 4. You can download the update in advance – many of you can even do it today. In the new live-action trailer, Blizzard features the new area Nahantu and the dynamic battles of the Spiritborn – the new class.
Many fans seem to be excited about the almost 2-minute trailer, saying: Blizzard should definitely make a whole movie or series.
Here’s the situation regarding a film adaptation: Bloomberg employee Jason Schreier provides insights into the gaming industry and especially Blizzard in his new book. A series for Diablo was actually in production. However, the projects were halted when the streaming service began to poach employees from Activision Blizzard.
Trailer showcases the ghost skills of the Spiritborn
What does the trailer show? The trailer begins with Neyrelle embarking on a journey with the soul stone. As she reaches into the water, a black trail can be seen extending through the water, across the land and over the plants and trees.
At the same time, we see the Spiritborn – the ghost-born in Nahantu. They prepare for the battle they sense is coming. In the next sequence, they are attacked by various monsters. Neyrelle seems to be sitting in the boat, struggling against the influence of the soul stone.
Meanwhile, we see dynamic fights of the Spiritborn defending themselves with their glaives and spirits against demons. One fighter summons a jaguar into battle, another a giant centipede that spews poison at the monsters. Finally, an eagle spirit sweeps the remaining monsters off the battlefield.
The trailer ends with black tears flowing from Neyrelle’s eyes – and the text “Deliver us from evil” appears on the screen.
How are the fans reacting? Fans have mixed reactions to the new live-action trailer. Some express that they wish for a movie or series:
