The MMORPG Diablo Immortal is heavily criticized but brings in a lot of revenue. Now 129 servers have been closed, as the number of players is decreasing.
Blizzard made a lot of money with Diablo Immortal. At the end of July, a report spoke of 100 million euros, according to colleagues from mmorpg.org.pl, it is now said to be even 300 million euros.
Although the game has always been under strong criticism, it was especially a big success in Germany. The criticism was mainly about the monetization. Certain content and progress were tied to items that could be purchased:
- For this reason, there was always dispute about the legendary gems in Diablo Immortal.
- Well-known Twitch streamers like Asmongold and Bellular Gaming also describe the game as Pay2Win.
What has happened now? Meanwhile, Blizzard has closed the first servers and has promised strong rewards for the server merge.
In a second wave of closures, a total of 129 servers have now been closed, including several German ones. We will explain what you need to pay attention to and which servers are affected.
Blizzard closes several servers, characters, and in-game purchases remain intact
When were the servers closed? After November 23, the servers were merged.
Which German servers are affected? For German-speaking players, 13 servers have been merged. We list them here for you:

- Harrogath
- Imperius
- Vizjerei
- Hemlir
- Hratli
- Segithis
- Solarion
- Larzuk
- El’Druin
- Tabri
- Zolthrax
- Qual-Kehk
What do I need to pay attention to? According to Blizzard, you do not need to transfer your characters or pay attention to other things. Your characters will remain intact and you can keep your purchased Battle Passes. Even special achievements for Challenge Rift will be transferred to the new servers.
However, it is different when it comes to names: If other characters already have your name on the new server, Blizzard will add a number to your name and offer you a free name change.
