Currently, the developers of Diablo 4 are continuously announcing new features for Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred. Now Blizzard has confirmed a feature that facilitates both traveling and other activities in the ARPG.
In Diablo 4, there is a capital city in every region, and with Vessel of Hatred, another one is added: Kurast. If you use your portal’s function, you will land in the capital of the region you are in. However, players have been wanting to set a favorite city since release.
In July 2024, Blizzard invited several experts to test the new class, the Spiritborn. One of them meticulously noted all new features and tried everything he could find to analyze it later. He noticed there that cities can be marked as favorites.
The new feature has been confirmed by Blizzard, and it has explained when players can use it.
What is this feature? It is about the ability to mark cities in Diablo 4 as favorites. This allows you to get to the city you visit most often with one click. Some cities simply have a better layout than others and are “more comfortable”.
When will this feature come? In a post on X, Diablo expert “Rob2628” explains that the function to mark a preferred waypoint is coming to Diablo 4. The post was shared by Diablo head Rod Fergusson on August 26 on X and added: “Yes! This is coming into the base game on October 8!”
On October 8, the first expansion for Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred, will be released. In the video, you can see some of the new contents that will come into the game:
“Finally no more Gea Kul”
How is it received? In a thread on Reddit, the new feature is being discussed within the community. Many users share their preferred cities and additionally highlight some advantages that this feature can bring.
In a comment, “Uhdoyle” writes: “Cerrigar is absolutely the best city, and it’s hard to say why after so many changes to the cities. The merchants are now closer together in every city, but Cerrigar is just the original.”
And “alisonstone” notes that now all cities are “quite decent” after Season 4, since the merchants have been brought closer together. Gea Kul is the only one that is really bad. The top comment comes from “Em4gdn3m”. He writes: “Good, no more Gea Kul.”
Also, for the bounty quests for the “Whispering Tree”, many players see advantages in the new function. “Winter_Ad_2618” writes: “I am really looking forward to it!! It will make the whisper tasks so much better.” So far, you had to teleport to the waypoint at the “Whispering Tree” in between yourself, which was often tedious. With the new favorites feature, this will be much easier.
And “Chet_Steadman” sees another advantage: “It’s definitely a really nice quality of life change for the Hell floods. I always get hit by demons that spawn while I try to port, so I just have to use a city port and then port from there to the tree.”
What do you think about the favorites feature for waypoints? Which city will you mark? Feel free to let us know in the comments. With the expansion “Vessel of Hatred”, another area is coming into the game on October 8, including new waypoints that you can also mark as a favorite. You can also recruit mercenaries – your new best friends in Diablo 4. They will get a kind of “hideout”, which is also accessible by a waypoint.
