Blade & Soul takes away a weapon path from players – but nothing is lost. We will tell you what the changes mean.
The enhancement system for weapons is one of the characteristics of Blade and Soul. Instead of constantly exchanging weapons as in other MMORPGs, players in B&S continuously enhance theirs. Just as players have properly internalized the system, it is already changing.
The Moonwater Path for weapons will disappear in June at the highest ranks
In the coming weeks, there will be significant changes to weapon enhancement in Blade & Soul. Players currently have the option between two paths for upgrading their weapons – the Moonwater Path and the Silverfrost Path. On June 1, the last two ranks of the Moonwater Path (“the Siren” and “the Pirate”) will disappear.
The weapons themselves will not disappear. They will simply be redirected to the Silverfrost Path upon the next enhancement.
The changes are justified by the fact that for the highest ranks of the Moonwater Path one has to farm dungeons and content that do not correspond to the maximum level. This content is not particularly challenging and therefore not enjoyable. To ensure all players can experience the new areas of the Silverfrost Peaks, they are limiting the choice to this path. In the original version of the game, this was introduced much earlier.
A second reason is an upcoming event where players can obtain so-called “enhancement stones for fog weapons,” which can reduce the cost of an enhancement by 10-40%. Exact details about this event will be available in the coming weeks.
Gem Hammers and Compensation
Another change will take place on May 11, which primarily serves to enhance the players’ comfort. With gem hammers, it is possible to give weapons additional gem slots. However, it could happen that these slots were lost when enhancing the weapon. Although this was “planned” and corresponds to the original system, it caused frustration among many players.
For this reason, they are removing this disadvantage when enhancing and instead providing an additional chance to unlock extra slots. Players affected by the loss of slots will receive 4 additional hammers, which will be available after the maintenance on May 11.
