The next patch for Blade & Soul, Realm in Ruins, introduces new dungeons and PvP battlefields. These entice with stylish rewards.
On April 27, there will be a new update for Blade & Soul. The patch named “Realm in Ruins” brings several innovations, especially regarding group play. To prepare players for the fresh content, an overview has been created on the official game page. We present to you the most important points from it.
PvP in the Windswept Valley
One of the biggest innovations is the new PvP game mode “Windswept Valley,” where 6 players per team compete against each other to fight for dominance in the namesake valley.
The goal is to capture and hold multiple control points. Points are constantly being accumulated. The team that first increases its counter to 1800 wins the respective match. This can be accelerated by killing enemy players or achieving “Kill Streaks” – meaning eliminating several enemies in quick succession without dying.
Participation in the battlefield is rewarded with combat points, which can then be exchanged for items at the corresponding merchants. This includes Bagua, materials for upgrades, and of course costumes.
In contrast to the arena, you are not affected by scaling in the Windswept Valley – so the values you actually have on your gear count.
2 new Dungeons: The Lonely Bastion and the Cold Chamber
But fans of PvE content will also have something to do with “Realm in Ruins.” Two new dungeons await exploration.
In the Lonely Bastion, located in the Silverfrost Peaks, players face their toughest challenge yet, as it is said to be the hardest dungeon in the game. Either in groups of four or six, players can tackle this challenge, which has numerous rewards and will thus provide a sustainable way to improve weapons and accessories.
By contrast, the Cold Chamber is significantly easier and can only be visited by players once per day, unless they purchase something from the Hongmoon Shop to bypass this restriction.
As the Cold Chamber is a relatively easy method to gain experience, Frozen Thorns, and Cold Orbs, it is expected to be well-frequented. An optional boss, which can only be summoned with certain tradeable items (colored orbs), rounds off the experience and provides the opportunity to gain a little more from the daily visit.
