Who is it about and what happened? A player with the Reddit name “ImstillaliveT98” recently showcased his latest achievement: He reached the maximum level of “Echelon 81” in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the Battle Royale mode Blackout. And that in just four days!
How does leveling work in Blackout? This is particularly impressive, as you need so-called “Merits” to level up (Echelons) in Blackout.
And you only get Merits here if you do something significant. Simply participating in a match and dealing some damage is not enough.
Even if you last a long time and survive to the last 20 players through a lot of camping, it’s worth nothing.
Only those who get kills, last a long time, or win earn points and can level up.
The Secret of Success
How did ImstillaliveT98 do it? According to his own statements, ImstillaliveT98 had to work quite hard. His statistics show:
- 215 matches played in Blackout
- 42 of them were won, which is basically every 5th game!
- He has a Kill/Death ratio of 7.09 and has taken out 1,206 opponents
- His average damage was 1,740
He needed a total of 31 hours for this, which he completed in 4 days. That averages around 7 hours of play per day.

Players react with friendly mockery: On Reddit, ImstillaliveT98’s achievement was received positively and with friendly mockery.
Some suspected that behind ImstillaliveT98 was actually the successful streamer Shroud, which was denied by ImstillaliveT98: “I wish that were true!”
Others advised the player to finally open a window. The witty reply was: “I play with the window open”.
Another Reddit user can’t imagine that ImstillaliveT98 will make a big entrance now: “He’s surely afraid of snipers when he’s out in the open”.
