What is silk used for? Silk (Seide) is used in Black Myth: Wukong to craft armors. They protect you from the significant damage of enemy attacks. Therefore, you will inevitably need to build new armors later in the game.
The material is quite important, and if you don’t want to make your life too difficult, you should gather some of it to become stronger. We will show you how to find silk in the game.

Finding and farming silk
How to find silk? The material is not just lying around in the game world, but can be found in various ways. Below, we present three of them.
Farming silk
One way to get silk is pretty simple. Some enemies drop the material when they die. This works especially well with the rat enemies in chapter 2, in the area of Yellow Wind Ridge. On average, one out of four enemies drops silk.
Also, larger enemies can drop the resource, but the chances are lower. The advantage of small standard enemies is that they respawn every time you rest. This way, you can easily farm silk and improve your character’s level on the side.
Buying silk
If you don’t want to farm for a long time, you can also simply buy silk. However, this option has its limits. In the shrine shop, there are two pieces for 600 spirit essence each. If you urgently need the material, you can grab some here.
You can also exchange silk for spirit essence, but since you can get essence much more easily, we do not recommend that.
Finding silk in chests
The resource can also be found in chests. You will find them while exploring the world. They contain silk, or sometimes even rarer materials. Therefore, thoroughly investigating the world is worthwhile.
If you use these three methods, you will have enough silk in your inventory to craft your first armors shortly after starting your adventure. As you progress further, you will also find more of it and soon have enough to explore the crafting system.
