In Black Myth Wukong, your journey is divided into different chapters. By defeating the final boss of a chapter, you move on to the next one, but how many chapters are there in the action RPG actually? We provide you with the answer.
How many chapters are there? In total, there are 6 chapters in Black Myth Wukong that you can complete one after the other. These take you to different areas and let you defeat new enemies and bosses. The chapters are as follows:
- Chapter 1: Black Cloud, Red Fire
- Chapter 2: Yellow Sand, Desolate Dusk
- Chapter 3: White Snow, Ice Cold
- Chapter 4: Rosy Cheeks, Gray Hair
- Chapter 5: Golden Child, Crimson Blood
- Chapter 6

How long does a chapter take? This varies and depends on how thoroughly you explore a chapter. However, you can expect a duration of 5-10 hours, considering the defeat of the bosses.
Can I revisit old chapters? Yes, you can. After completing a chapter, you will be sent to the next one. However, if you missed a boss or item from previous chapters, you can rest at an altar of your choice and use fast travel to return to the old chapter.
This way, you also have access to useful merchants like the Monkey Merchant, who can even improve your items or potions to make them stronger and give them more charges.
When do I lose access to the chapters? After defeating the final boss of Chapter 6, you will have the opportunity to travel to NG+. If you have not yet collected all quests, secret bosses, or items, you should decline NG+ for now. If you do not, you will be put into a new story run and your old chapter progress will be overwritten.
You will then have to play through all chapters again to gain access to them. NG+ is definitely worth it, especially if you are after trophies and want to complete the game, but it is always advisable to finish everything in the first run that can be completed before starting NG+.
