To Black Desert Online, the sandbox MMO from Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss, there was a presentation in Korea about new content. Among these were new sea monsters and even more elf forests, as well as a new class called Striker, who is supposed to become a martial arts fighter.
Each of the existing classes in Black Desert Online is lovingly designed and brings its own flair. From the dark sorceress to the cute witch, the rough berserker, or the new Dark Blade, each class has its own style and special gameplay mechanics.
So does the latest class, which was recently teased in Korea: the martial arts fighter “Striker”.
Black Desert Online: Skills of the new class Striker – Combos and Punches
The Striker is a dapper Kung-Fu warrior who does not need weapons to inflict maximum damage. He hammers on his opponents with hands and feet and transforms individual moves into devastating combos. Need some examples?
- With the shoulder tackle Adamantine, he can quickly close the gap to the opponent
- The Knee Hammer is a devastating attack where the Striker crushes the enemy in mid-air with his knee. The attack immediately takes down small opponents, and against larger ones, the Striker can add further moves as a combo to beat the enemy into the air and continue to batter him.
- Soaring Crash is an uppercut attack that knocks back and over enemies.
- From a spin, the Striker can execute devastating Spinning Slashes.
- If an opponent becomes too cheeky, the Striker grabs him via Massive Suppression and beats him to a pulp before slamming him to the ground.
The Striker is a tactically demanding class thanks to its many skills and combos, but it requires quite a bit of skill and practice. Clever players should have a lot of fun with it and discover countless combos. In PvP, Strikers are particularly good at defeating an enemy in a 1vs1 duel. Apparently, all Strikers are male.
However, another class has also been hinted at. This is apparently female and features a kind of rope. Unfortunately, not much more was seen, as only a silhouette was shown.
Black Desert Online – More Elf Forest and Water Monsters
The new class of the Striker is clearly the highlight of the upcoming updates for Black Desert Online, but it is not the only new addition to the game. The Dark Elf region of Kamasylvia (which is not yet included in the Western version) will receive an expansion that features new hunting grounds full of mushroom creatures, the city of Grana, and the mysterious “Tooth Fairy Forest”.
Additionally, there will be a new water monster in the ocean. The giant creature is known as “Vell” and is said to present a challenge to entire guilds. PvP fans will have the option to form informal gangs with the militias, whose names and guild affiliations will remain anonymous. This way, militia troops can covertly participate in the wars of the large guilds and be the tipping point.
BDO – Skills, Unicorns, and Airships
If that’s not enough, players can look forward to new skills that match the level of your awakenings and are created from two pre-awakening skills that you can combine. The live skills will also receive an expansion and will be complemented with various abilities for jumping and climbing.
Those who prefer to ride instead of climb can acquire the recently announced Tier-9 unicorn mount “Dineh”. The unicorn can also heal thanks to its magical horn. However, those who prefer to travel in the air can soon pilot airships that are attached to balloons.
Many of these innovations are still in an early development stage and may change. Moreover, they will first be released for the Korea version and will be implemented with some delay for the Western version. When this will happen is still unknown.
