Black Desert: Major Announcement – New Class Striker, PvE Battlefield

A new class has been announced for the fantasy MMORPG Black Desert. New PvE content and a graphics improvement are also coming.

Exciting news about Black Desert. In a livestream, the developers from Pearl Abyss announced the next steps – and they are worth looking forward to.

A new class named Striker will arrive in South Korea on May 13. It resembles the Monk from other RPGs, being an unarmed martial arts fighter. It will probably be exclusively male. When the Striker awakens, he might receive a kind of combat glove.

The Striker is expected to appear soon in South Korea. We do not know when the new class will come to us in Europe. There is no release date for the Striker in Black Desert yet.

Second new class teased already

Further classes are known for the future – there is already an image of the “next next” class. It has no name yet.

Airlifts coming – Following fixed routes

Furthermore, Pearl Abyss has announced airships for Black Desert. Soon players will be able to rise into the skies. Airships should fit well with the open world of Black Desert, it is believed.

Such an airship is relatively slow, but it will be possible to cross the desert with it. The airships will follow a fixed route.

Black Desert: PvE content and new zones

Normally, this would be enough for a single livestream. But Pearl Abyss is really pulling out all the stops and presenting additional plans for Black Desert in 2017.

Battles against gigantic sea monsters

Also announced:

• There will be a naval battle against a huge monster named Vell in Margoria – it is said to be as large as the city of “Heidel”. Players will need to master their ships precisely to defeat Vell. A new combat ship with four cannons will also find its way to Black Desert.
• A new battlefield “Black Raptured Dimension” is coming – but this is not intended for PvP, but for PvE against a horde of monsters. Here strategic thinking and teamwork will be crucial. Players earn resources by killing monsters. With the resources they loot, they build fortifications.

  

• „Black Spirit“ Adventures are coming – with new challenges on a new game board.
• Part 2 of the Kamasylvia expansion is planned – it is expected to arrive in the summer in South Korea. The capital Grana and three regions will be introduced – one for levels 53-55, one for 55-57 and one for level 60 and above. The Geirasha Temple is expected to become the strongest new grind spot.

A unicorn and a graphics overhaul are planned

• A Tier 9 unicorn is coming (Dine) – its horn has healing powers.
• Guilds are expected to become more important

• With a militia system, Node wars will be enhanced – players will be able to enlist as mercenaries.
• Players will gain the ability to climb (it may take some time).
• The announced graphics overhaul will come in 2017 – audio improvements are also planned.
• A kind of second awakening is also in the works, a “Skill Promoting System” – here, “unawakened” skills will be the focus. It will be possible to develop two “unawakened” combat abilities into one. These new abilities are expected to be as powerful as the awakened abilities of the class. This is also something for the more distant future.
• New “Life Skills” like pottery are planned (this may still take some time)
• They want to tweak the balance, aiming to buff weaker classes rather than nerf the strong ones. Currently, the strongest classes are considered to be the Dark Knight, Wizard, and Witch. They have the best “Kill/Death” ratio.
• A “Trading” minigame is coming.

That was a lot of new information all at once. One missing piece: There are no updates on the port of Black Desert for PS4 and Xbox One.

Black Desert Online is coming for PS4 & Xbox One, but not addressing it
