The latest patch in Black Desert has torn a hole in the world.
Last Wednesday, Black Desert received a new patch. Since Black Desert looks great, it was a hefty 3.3 GB. It wasn’t a hugely significant patch, mainly concerning events, game mechanics, and class balancing. Here are the patch notes in German, available on the Black Desert site.
With the patch, an interesting phenomenon occurred: In the Shakatu territory in the Valencia zone, holes appeared in the ground through which players could fall. Not real, visible holes, but clipping errors.
Before that, the developers warned specifically: Watch out in the region, there are holes. But this rather motivated players to go there and fall through the world for a bit or even twice.

If you think: Great, I’ve always wanted to do that. That looks amazing, I will spend my Sunday this way! It’s much better to fall through the world rather than having the sky fall on your head – unfortunately, we have to disappoint that hope.
Already on Thursday, a hotfix for Black Desert Online was released, which solved this problem. All holes are filled again.
