Three new black stones have been added to Black Desert. These allow for guaranteed enhancement at the cost of durability. However, the items can only be used in certain cases.
The endgame of Black Desert involves enhancement of equipment to a certain extent. However, enhancement processes can fail. The materials used in the process are then lost and the equipment gets damaged or, in the worst case, downgraded. Black stones are used in Black Desert to enhance equipment.
That’s why the three new magical black stones sound too good to be true. They promise an enhancement with a 100% success rate.
Enhancing will be easier
More enhancement options: There was already a game mechanic where players could force an enhancement up to enhancement level 18. However, the equipment would be severely damaged and had to be repaired afterwards. Unfortunately, this option was only available for green items.
With the new magical black stones, players can do almost the same. The equipment is less severely damaged and the process is also available for blue and yellow equipment. Unfortunately, the magical black stones can only be used for enhancement levels 13 to 15.
There are three new types of magical black stones:
- Stabilized magical black stones are used for green equipment.
- Purified magical black stones are important for blue equipment.
- Flawless magical black stones are used to enhance yellow equipment.
How to use the magical black stones
How do the new black stones work? You need a certain number of magical black stones, depending on the enhancement level you want to achieve.
- If you want to perform an enhancement at level 13, you need 5 magical black stones.
- To reach level 14, you need 8 magical black stones.
- And for level 15, you must have 13 magical black stones.
If you want to perform an enhancement, you simply call your trusty “friend” black spirit with the comma key and select Enhance. Then click on the equipment to be enhanced and carry out the enhancement process.
Note that with a guaranteed enhancement using the new magical black stones, the durability of the equipment will be reduced by 30.
How do I obtain magical black stones? You can obtain the new magical black stones by defeating world or field bosses, such as Mirumok Offin-Guardian, Quint or Muraka.
Is Black Desert now Pay2Win?
New item with limited utility: The new magical black stones cannot be purchased in the pearl shop and cannot be traded between players. The reduction of the equipment’s durability plays into the hands of Kakao Games.
To repair your damaged equipment, players will resort to the item “Memories of a Craftsman”. This item quadruples the restored durability of items. The catch: “Memories of a Craftsman” can be purchased by players in the pearl shop.
