Black Desert: 16 hours server down for mega server [Update]

The move to the mega servers for Black Desert is approaching. More players and more interaction are expected as a result. But today, it’s moving time.

Update 1.12.2016, 8:45: The maintenance has been extended by 3 hours. 12 o’clock is now the targeted date.

As already announced a few weeks ago, tomorrow will be a big day when Black Desert switches to mega server technology and completes the “New World” project. The developers started the process four days ago – all servers will go down tonight. They are expected to reopen tomorrow as “mega servers.”

The servers will shut down this evening around 8 PM German time. The developers expect a “moving time” of 13 hours. The mega server is planned to open tomorrow, Thursday, December 1st, at 9:00 AM.

Those who have only played on a single server should not expect many changes. Everything works as usual and there will simply be significantly more players with whom you can trade or fight.

However, those who were based on several servers and had numerous characters per server will now have to live with some cuts. If you have more characters than the new maximum allows (6 slots + 6 additional through the shop), you will only have access to the respective characters with the highest level. “Smaller” characters can only be played if one of the others is deleted – they will then “slide in”.

In general, it applies: Whenever the game could logically “merge” anything, it has done so. Blessing buffs that were active on several servers were combined (if you had a blessing for 7 days on server A and on server B as well, you now have this buff for 14 days).

Overall, the mega servers are expected to bring more participation in battles, more trade, and generally more life on the servers, which should refresh almost all game content of Black Desert.
