Bethesda is currently working on several new games, including the science fiction RPG Starfield. If you want to design a character for it, Bethesda is now giving you the opportunity.
What is Starfield? Bethesda’s next project after Fallout 76 sends you into space. Not much is known about Starfield yet, except that it presents space travel in a somewhat more realistic way than, for example, the similar The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment. Space flight is said to be dangerous.
Starfield will build on the familiar elements of Bethesda role-playing games and offer you many quests, exciting battles, and a sandbox world – which is likely to be divided into multiple planets.
Design a Starfield character
What did Bethesda announce? Via Twitter, the development studio invites you to an auction. The charity organization Make-a-Wish is supported with the program “Evening of Wishes”.
You can bid to have the opportunity to design your own character for Starfield together with Bethesda producer Todd Howard. Additionally, you will receive an Xbox Series X and the entire Bethesda game library as a digital download.
When does it start? The auction is already live. You can bid directly on the website of Make-A-Wish.
Who is the auction intended for? Anyone can participate, of course. But in the end, a very high amount is likely to come out of it. This currently stands at $6,200 (as of February 24 at 11:15 AM).
When does the auction end? You can participate until February 28.
What could this mean for Starfield? It is stated on the auction website that Bethesda will start working with you to design this character within 3 months from February 28 and integrate it into the game.
This could indicate that there will soon be major news regarding Starfield and that Bethesda may be planning the release for this year. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
By the way, Bethesda will soon belong to Microsoft. The game studio was sold for $7.5 billion.
