The MMORPG Lost Ark is not necessarily known for its nice raid community. Many find it difficult to get started in Lost Ark. However, for the mother of a user, the entry was so difficult that the son sought help on reddit – and actually found it.
What was the Reddit post about? The Lost Ark subreddit is usually filled with topics that focus on raids. Topics such as which class deals the most damage and which one should not be taken at all are often discussed there.
A post from user Kihakiru caught attention over the weekend. It was titled: “Can anyone help my mom through a raid?” He further stated that his mother is physically limited and therefore plays with a special mouse that has all buttons for control. This makes raiding not easier.
However, she would love Lost Ark and is sad because she cannot progress in the story without raids. He wrote the post because he does not want his mother to leave the MMORPG she enjoys so much.
He would help her himself but no longer actively plays Lost Ark. He says: “I would hate it if someone got mad at her during a raid. My experience with people in MMOs has not been the best.”
This is the best post I have ever seen in this Reddit
How are the raiders reacting? Surprisingly positive. Initially, there are many obvious troll posts. The creator also could not avoid the occasional typical “Your mom” joke. However, many users wanted to help the user’s mom.
Some of the Reddit raiders were skeptical whether it was really the mother. It was assumed that the creator wanted to obtain a free raid carry. However, in more and more comments from Kihakiru, it became clear that he did not even know which raid it was about.
Eventually, people gathered who wanted to support the mother and who were on the same server as she was. Leading the charge was user hijklm7, who ultimately stepped in as a helper.
Was help provided to the mom? Later that same day, hijklm7 posted again under the thread and attached screenshots as proof. He helped the mom with the Oreha dungeons in hard mode and with Argos. He also explained to her how she could craft her next armor and assisted her with further guardian raids.
He further stated that the mom actually just wants to continue playing the story and is now really looking forward to going to Rowen and someday later to Elgacia. Furthermore, they found out that he lives only two blocks away from the work of the help-seeking mom. “What a small world, I really had fun.”
Even more users want to help, fans celebrate the action
Does the story continue? After both the paladin and the creator proved how happy mom was with screenshots, even more people want to join the action.
In Argos and Oreha, the two raids that have already received help, these are comparatively easy content. But the users are already planning to guide the Lost Ark-loving mom through the hardest content.
Users like rotinegg, feeltherainbow, and ghost quickly join the idea:
- “Message me if you need me. I have a gunslinger at 1570 and some supporters I can gather.”
- “I am on the same server, I’d be happy to teach her Kayangle [the newest raid boss in Lost Ark] if the timing works out.”
- “I would also participate, same server and gear score 1590, just let me know.”
Also outside of the users offering their help, the post is celebrated by many. Several users write that it is the sweetest post this Reddit has ever seen. Others thank the diligent helpers: “I’m so glad hijklm7 took the time to brighten a stranger’s day.”
What do you think of the whole action? Would you have helped the mom yourself? Or do you have a completely different opinion on the subject? Have you perhaps experienced something similar yourself? Feel free to write to us in the comments here at MeinMMO, we look forward to your stories.
Indeed, the raid community in Lost Ark, aside from such beautiful stories, is a real problem for the MMORPG. Lost Ark makes one of its hardest raids easier – Are we too bad and too mean in the West?
