H1Z1 is a free-to-play shooter, which however cannot be referred to solely as a shooter. Rather, you find yourself with your created avatar in a desolate world where humanity has been decimated by a swine flu virus and the affected now shuffle through the world as zombies.

To defend yourself properly, you must collect everything you encounter in the vast game world of H1Z1. The building feature is particularly interesting in H1Z1. You can not only hide in existing buildings but also expand them according to your own ideas and own a small fortress after just a few hours. Initially, you use the boards scattered on the ground of the destroyed cities to barricade the entrances of the house. Later, you can build your own furniture or even craft your own weapons and food in the building feature. The game knows hardly any limits, which is why the player’s creativity is highly encouraged.

Over time, entire player cities can be created in this way, where a small microcosm emerges. Not only do various numbers of players live in their houses here, but they can even open small shops and sell manufactured goods to other survivors, thus building their own existence. Always be aware that H1Z1 is a zombie game in which players fight for their survival. If you do not adequately defend your shop, players could sell all your goods and then shoot you.

H1Z1 is not for the faint of heart

If a player or a zombie kills you, it could mean your final player exit. There are settings options that allow for a permanent player death. So if you are careless with your character once, it can jeopardize your entire existence in H1Z1. There are even game modes where players wander as zombies through the endless expanses of the game world. H1Z1 is hard – damn hard. The zombies in H1Z1 do not just shuffle around but recognize you from a distance and run after you at lightning speed. If you are not attentive here, you will quickly become a victim of the flesh eaters. The game makes your life difficult at every turn – the weather is moody, nature fights back, and you keep running into players who might not be as nice as you are.
