Before Mass Effect: Andromeda Release – Play Mass Effect 2 for Free!

In just over two weeks, Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released. Yes, exactly, the new RPG-shooter hybrid from BioWare that all the nerdy RPG fans are currently talking about. Since it’s easy to get caught up in such hype and Mass Effect is not without reason considered one of the best game series of recent years, the temptation to dive into the universe is great.

Is playing the first 3 “Mass Effect” games necessary?

Although Mass Effect: Andromeda is essentially independent of the trilogy, the game frequently references Shepard (the hero of the trilogy) and the events that took place in the earlier parts. While it is not necessary to have played the first parts for Andromeda, those who want to enjoy the full story and understand all the references should unpack the original trilogy in the coming weeks.

Anyone who wants to secure the game should visit the aforementioned website as soon as possible and add Mass Effect 2 to their Origin account – this obviously requires an Origin account. Once the game is registered in your library, it will remain there even if the “On the House” promotion for Mass Effect ends.

As EA never announces in advance when a “On the House” promotion ends, anyone interested should hurry to grab at least part of the trilogy for free. This is also a good incentive to convert “innocent” friends to devoted Mass Effect fans.
