In Pax Dei, you are not only allowed to be residents of a medieval RPG world but also to build it with your friends and other players. However, the MMORPG is currently not very popular, yet the developers are now announcing the release.
What kind of game is this? Pax Dei is a sandbox MMORPG where players can not only take over the market economy but also contribute significantly to shaping the world. Players can claim plots of land in the game world and build houses, workshops, or even entire castles there.
Ideally, the individual buildings will then create villages and towns that are designed and managed by the players themselves. However, the MMORPG, launching in Early Access in 2024, is currently struggling. A debate about the monetization of plots through a subscription model lost a lot of trust. Now the developers have a new plan.

What do the developers have planned? On October 6, the Early Access servers of Pax Dei will be shut down and everything will be deleted. Afterwards, they will remain offline until the early launch of version 1.0 on October 14. From then on, buyers of the Founder Edition can start, while the full release of the MMORPG will take place on October 16. All players will then be able to start on PC.
New is the release on Xbox Game Pass. All PC players with an active subscription can play the MMORPG without additional cost starting October 16. This is intended to attract new players to the MMORPG and improve the weak player numbers, which only barely reached 400 players on Steam even at peak times (via SteamDB).
What about the plots of land? The debate around the plots in Pax Dei has triggered many conflicts and caused significant trouble with the players. The new system stipulates that players start with a free monthly subscription and receive a plot of land for that.
As long as the premium subscription is active, your plot remains intact. Those who want more plots can subscribe to a more expensive plan and thus receive more tokens for the plots.
Players who want to play the MMORPG post-release without a subscription can access other players’ plots through guilds in the game and play without any monthly costs.
