Shooting & Destroy is for many players the king discipline of the multiplayer of CoD Modern Warfare. The mode has been around forever and apparently received a small change. Players are now wondering, is it a bug or an actually intended feature?
What is this bug/feature? Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been out for over a week now and is still very popular. With such a large community as that of the CoD series, small errors and bugs usually do not remain undetected for long.
In this regard, Modern Warfare has actually started quite well, few major bugs have been reported so far, and yet one or the other error seems to have crept in. A now discovered mechanic changes the mode Shooting & Destroy in such a way that it is already a “game-breaker”.
Bug indicates defusing of the bomb
Currently, one gets a hint when an opponent defuses the bomb that has already been planted at the target. If you keep an eye on the progress display of the bomb after planting, a red mark appears when the timer runs down in the symbol of the target.
On the right side, beneath the blue filling, a red shimmer can be seen, which is only visible when an opponent defuses the bomb. The bug was logged by player “MajorManiak” on Twitter.
Is this really a bug? So far, this display did not exist and the developers have not mentioned the change in any way. Players are now wondering if it is a bug or feature, as such a display would significantly change the tactical approach.
Change would affect many clan wars
How does Shooting and Destroy work? This popular mode has a tactical focus and is very widespread in clan wars or e-sports competitions. Unlike most other modes, here the player has only one life and comes back into play only at the beginning of the next round.
The goal is either to plant a bomb at one of the two targets or to prevent the opposing team from doing exactly that. The mode is also exceptionally short with 2 minutes of round time and puts significant pressure on the bomb teams.

How does the bug change the game? Once the bomb is placed, the hunters become the hunted and the defenders of the targets must try to defuse the explosives. It is not enough to eliminate all attackers. The defenders must defuse the bomb to save the round.
With the new display, attackers now have a strong advantage over defenders. While the bodyguards of the target receive no feedback when the bomb is laid, attackers can now hide calmly and wait for the defusal display and then attack.
Players share the exploit
What do the players say? Under the Twitter post by ‘FaZe Maniak’, many could initially see nothing. The posted video is of poor quality and the marking is rather inconspicuous. However, those who looked closely often found it hard to believe.
It shouldn’t be a feature. It removes the entire tactic from the game. Hopefully, this is unintentional.
