The fast-paced Free2Play arena brawler Battlerite (PC) has a new hero: the wizard Zander. This hero is particularly good at trolling!
Battlerite is a colorful arena brawler. This means it’s a game that plays similarly to a MOBA but focuses solely on combat. So there are no towers, no jungle, and no lanes. Instead, there are plenty of skill shots and brawling!
The game is well-received on Steam and has over 35,000 positive ratings out of a total of 40,000 reviews on Steam.
A new hero is coming to Battlerite, who stands out particularly for trolling.
A stage magician in the arena?
The new hero is named Zander and is a wizard. But not a mystical magician like those from various fantasy epics. Rather, Zander is a typical stage illusionist with a tailcoat and top hat.
Therefore, he is less of an offensive damage dealer and more of a supporter and controller. He can create annoying illusions that attack enemies, or he can transform enemies into sheep. Then they stand around bleating stupidly and pose no danger for a while.
Not the portal!
As a support, Zander can heal and enhance his friends. He can also create teleport portals. And it’s exactly this ability that some clumsy or simply trollish Zander players are driving their teammates to despair.
Nothing is more annoying than being teleported against your will, just because Zander has once again cast the portal on you. Zander requires skill, and thus the new hero is currently a controversial choice in the Battlerite community, and some would like the developers to nerf Zander because he is so bothersome.
A well-played Zander is, however, an asset to the team, which is why he is considered OP by some players. It remains to be seen whether it’s only due to the lack of experience or if a nerf is indeed necessary.
Battlerite took advantage of its 2nd chance at launch. Free was the right price!
