The Free2Play online game Battlerite is actually known as an arena brawler, where you engage in team fights in MOBA-like skirmishes. However, a battle royale spin-off of the title has now been announced, with Battlerite Royale following in the footsteps of games like Fortnite or PUBG. The model is based on Paladins.
Battlerite Royale will be a standalone game
From arena brawler to battle royale game. Currently, there is no way around battle royale. And for a game like Battlerite, this mode is simply ideal.
In the Free2Play action game, which feels like a MOBA, the playing field shrinks until the winner is determined.
Battle royale is being spun off as its own game: However, to take the final step towards battle royale, a spin-off has now been announced: Battlerite Royale will not be a mode of the base game, but will appear as a standalone spin-off.
Thus, it follows the model of Paladins, which also spun off Realm Royale.
That’s why they are separating battle royale: The developers explain that Battlerite fans are excited about the battle royale mode, but this mode cannot evolve as much as many would wish due to certain limitations of the base game.
Therefore, the team decided to spin off the battle royale mode and develop it as a standalone title. This resulted in Battlerite Royale.
What do the developers want to change? While there will still be champions to fight with, the developers have completely revamped them.
- The champion ability kits will be revised
- The stats will be rebalanced
- New game systems will be introduced, others will be removed
- A new matchmaking and ranking system will come into play
- The interface will be completely overhauled
- The matches should be significantly faster
- Defensive gameplay mechanics and healing will be revised
- Especially the support champions will undergo a major overhaul
When does Battlerite Royale start: Today, on August 13, the sign-up for the closed beta starts on the official website, which currently has no date yet. However, the early access version is supposed to launch in September.
