The recently heated debate surrounding Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has stirred up such emotions that even the new live action trailer is receiving numerous thumbs down in protest. Yet, it is really good!
The trailer shows us the rivalry between the Rebellion and the Empire in a different way: A boy and a girl tease each other over the years in classic Star Wars style and become increasingly creative. Ultimately, it culminates, of course, in an epic battle of Light versus Dark!
Of course, the antics of the two become increasingly exaggerated, but that is precisely what makes the appeal of the trailer. The dynamic between them is evident and how could one better crown it all than with a decisive duel in Battlefront 2?
Battlefront 2 under fire
Well, that’s at least the marketing perspective. On the internet, fans have long decided to punish Battlefront 2 with neglect, poor reviews, or mockery. This is shown not only by the negative ratings of the above-mentioned trailer, but particularly by the user ratings on Metacritic, which are a merciless 0.7 compared to 79 from the “professional” critics.
Nevertheless, one should sometimes just sit back and enjoy the things that are offered. Like the trailer, which knows how to entertain well despite its short duration. Whether one ultimately wants to support the game or not is, of course, up to each individual.
