The teasers and leaks continue for Battlefield 6, this time with an official news update for your armory. A gadget has been presented, and it impresses particularly with its sheer destructive power in the video.
What has been presented? The X account Battlefield Bulletin, which generally deals with news about the shooter series, has uploaded a video (source: x.com) demonstrating the sledgehammer from Battlefield 6.
The hammer is versatile, as you can either tear down buildings or smash your opponents and vehicles with it. Fans are amazed at how effective their new gadget is, even asserting that it would turn your soldiers into the Nordic god Thor.

How good is the sledgehammer? You can use the sledgehammer either to demolish houses or to damage enemies and vehicles.
When it comes to demolishing buildings, nothing probably comes close to the hammer. You only need 1–2 hits on any exterior wall, and the multi-story building collapses.
You can also destroy floors to navigate deeper or higher through the building. It is important that if you are heading towards the basement, you factor in the height of your fall. In the worst case, you might pull off a cool stunt only to break your legs.
The second area of focus is close combat, where the hammer can kill opponents with just one hit. Regarding vehicles, you should preferably use explosives. The hammer inflicts too little damage and has a slow handling, which makes you more vulnerable.
What do fans say about the hammer? There are two sides in the community with opinions on the sledgehammer. The first group celebrates the new gadget. It is powerful, disastrous, and just right to surprise opponents.
The second group, however, is very skeptical about the effectiveness of the hammer. They are uncertain if the hammer might be too powerful and unrealistic. In real life, one cannot demolish a multi-story building with just two hits.
Usually, explosives took on the job of destroying buildings, but due to the hammer’s effectiveness, it is now much more profitable to save these for tanks or other strategic maneuvers.
It remains to be seen whether DICE will reconsider and tone down the sledgehammer a bit.
