The developers of Battlefield 6 have announced that the Scout will lose the Spawn Beacon. Another class will be pleased.
What kind of change is this? The developers announced a few changes on the evening of August 4, 2025, that they will implement in the game after the Open Beta of Battlefield 6. These mainly concern the classes, in this case the Assault Soldier and the Scout.
The perhaps most striking change:
- The Assault Soldier will receive the Spawn Beacon in the future. This will be renamed to Deploy Beacon.
The Spawn Beacon is a gadget that can usually be carried by the Scout. It acts as a semi-mobile spawn point that players can set up to respawn at – a sort of addition to the spawns at flags or with squad members.
The Scout will no longer have access to the Spawn Beacon.
“The rooftop snipers with 0.4 K/Ds are going to flip out”
What does the community think of the change? On Reddit, many Battlefield fans comment that they like the change.
- “The rooftop snipers with 0.4 K/Ds are going to flip out.”
- “This is a very common request from the Labs testers. A good change to increase the utility of the Assault Soldier in team play, rather than just killing better.”
- “Honestly, this is fantastic. Now the beacon can be used for aggressive flanking maneuvers, rather than placing you on a hill or on a roof at the ass end of the world.”
- “Haha, now the Scout campers can’t sit on a random hill for the entire game endlessly anymore.”
Many players believe that a large portion of the snipers in the Scout class selfishly use the Spawn Beacon to camp at the edge of the map – rather than attacking the objective. The change could solve this problem with the Scouts.
What else will change with the classes? The developers announced a few more small changes to the Assault Soldier and the Scout.
Assault Soldier:
- Adrenaline Injector: no longer heals itself but makes more resistant to blinding effects, explosions, and increases movement speed.
- Commanding Presence: New signature trait that speeds up capturing objectives for the squad.
- Assault Ladder: New gadget, a portable ladder/ramp to provide squads access to hard-to-reach places.
Scout:
- Will be more focused on misinformation and sabotage.
- A new “Spec-Ops” path replaces “Pathfinder” and allows for silent takedowns and better sneaking.
- A new ability at level 3 allows requesting a UAV for passive reconnaissance.
- Aim Spotting: Enemies are automatically marked when you aim at them.
Additionally, the signature weapons of the support class will be slightly buffed. However, these changes are only to be implemented in the game after the Open Beta. The preload for the Beta is already available. You can find out more about it here: Preload for the Battlefield 6 Beta has started, soon you’ll be able to start
