This is how specialists work in Battlefield 2042: Specialists form the class system in Battlefield. They are initially divided into 4 categories, each having its own role on the battlefield and the corresponding skills to perform that role:
- Assault Soldier – Mobile soldier for the front
- Support – Support unit, also medic
- Engineer – Responsible for heavy equipment
- Recon – Scouts out or disrupts enemies
While there are certain restrictions on what weapons each class can use, they are less than in earlier Battlefield titles.
The classes then split into the specialists. These have their own active and passive abilities that differ from other characters. Some have a motion sensor, others can deploy drones to gather information for them.
Depending on your preferred playstyle, you can choose corresponding specialists. And when you play some rounds of Battlefield with your friends, you can pay attention to synergies between the specialists in your group to effectively take down your opponents in combat.
