The beta of Battlefield 2042 has entered the early access phase. However, the start is somewhat bumpy, as many EA Play subscribers apparently cannot access the servers. Publisher EA and developer DICE have already commented on this.
What is the problem? Players with EA Play were supposed to receive early access to the open beta of Battlefield 2042 and be able to play now.
However, many players only see an error message when logging in. This message states that one must either pre-order Battlefield 2042 or subscribe to EA Play to participate in the early access phase.
This is of course strange, as those affected already have a subscription. Apparently, the game does not recognize this and does not allow them access to the servers.
Update, October 6, 7:50 PM: Apparently, some fixes are now online that are supposed to address the problem.
Repeated logins are said to help
This is EA’s statement on the problem: According to F8RGE, the developers are aware of the issue and are working on a solution. Unfortunately, there are no specific details yet. Aside from that, he left a link to the FAQ on issues in the beta. (via answers.ea.com)
How many are affected? From various Twitter channels and the official subreddit, it seems that many players are experiencing this problem.
Unfortunately, there is still no real solution to the problem. However, some players believe it has worked after repeated login attempts. Unfortunately, this is difficult to verify. If this has been the case for you, feel free to leave a comment below.
The problem with EA Play is apparently not the only one preventing players from logging in. Many affected users also report an “unknown error” bug, which also prevents them from accessing the game. EA has not yet commented on this.

When does the early access phase end? Those who neither have EA Play nor want to pre-order can also start in the beta from October 8 at 9 AM. The preload phase already started on October 5.
When does the beta end? The beta runs until October 10 at 9 AM. After that, the servers will close again and you will presumably have the opportunity to play Battlefield 2042 again on November 19. The shooter will then be released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
