With a medal system, you will be rewarded for your achievements on the battlefield in Battlefield 1. We will explain how the system works.
If you have been playing the Battlefield series for a while, the medal system will not be a surprise for you. However, this system has been changed in Battlefield 1. In a rotation that changes weekly, you have the choice between 5 different medals. You are free to choose which of these 5 you want to unlock. For unlocking a medal, you receive additional experience points.
Over 34 different medals in Battlefield 1
Each week, you can choose from 5 medals that you can all unlock. The order in which you proceed is entirely up to you. With a built-in tracking system, you can select a specific medal and display its progress during key moments in the game and on the deployment screen. While you can only play for one medal at a time, the respective progress is saved until the weekly change. So you can choose a different medal if you switch your role or game mode, without losing your previous progress.
In total, there are 34 different medals that you can unlock up to 100 times. Each unlock grants you a XP bonus. To unlock a medal, you need to complete a type of quest that is divided into 3 to 5 sections. Each higher section has a higher difficulty. A medal for the medic, for example, has the following requirements:
- Achieve 20 kills with medic weapons
- Heal your team members 100 times
- Achieve 20 successful revives
The tracker shows you when a section is completed. There are also medals where you need to take on different roles. For the “Glory Medal,” you need to play various roles and support your teammates through repairs, healing, and ammunition drops.
Through the various medals and the roles that one must take on, the developers hope for more variety. Bonus XP can be a good motivation to try out other classes and game modes.
Battlefield 1 is currently running via EA Access and Origin Access and officially starts on October 21.
