This “Battlefield 1” gimmick is as simple as it is effective – If it works, the opponent looks old.
This week, Battlefield 1 will be released, allowing waiting players onto the servers. Those with Early Access on Origin or EA can already play the game and try out the various features, weapons, maps, and game modes. If you are among the players who will start playing with the official release on Friday (October 21), you can check out a trick here on how to confuse snipers.
The old “Head-on-a-Stick” trick
The trick is already known from old movies or comics, but still amazes some people today. Snipers in Battlefield 1 come equipped with a Decoy that you can use to mislead your opponents. For this, you have a “Head on a Stick” that you can position on the map. If this head is placed in a good spot, it is difficult for opponents to distinguish it from a player. On the YouTube channel of Giraffes R Loose you can see how well this gadget works.
After the opponent has destroyed your decoy, you have a window of time to attack the confused adversary. The decoy also reveals the position of the opponents. In the video, you can see a good example of “Counter-Sniping,” for which your teammates will likely thank you if you do it similarly. This way, the enemy snipers are eliminated by your own snipers, and the team on the ground has it a bit easier.
Try to position your sniper decoy so that only a piece of the head (and preferably not the stick) is visible. This way, opponents will be automatically tempted to shoot your lure.
