Battlefield 1 is great!
Overall, opinions about Battlefield 1 are very positive. Almost every critic seems to love the game, and many shower it with praise. For example, our colleagues from GameStar say: “The campaign of Battlefield 1 falls short of its potential, but the multiplayer makes a great first impression. Now the technology and balance just need to be right.” The site IGN is equally happy: “The raw, archaic charm of the World War I weapons gives the already strong first-person shooting experience a unique character.”
The site GamingTrend summarizes their experiences particularly poetically: “Like a bayonet thrust to the face, Battlefield 1 hits hard and looks damn good doing it!” With the revised, emotionally charged campaign, the single-player experience is undoubtedly the best in the entire series. The multiplayer [mode] combines solid classics and unbeatable gameplay mechanics with new modes that perfectly fit the setting of World War I. Could this be the Battlefield that ends all Battlefields? It could be!”
No rating below 80!
With these praises in mind, it’s not hard to believe that basically none of the previous 15 reviews on Metacritic falls below 80 points. Hence, Battlefield 1 currently has a Metascore of 89. We have listed the individual ratings in the following table for you.
