The new Battlefield has a reveal trailer, a release date, a handful of images, and initial information.
The new Battlefield is actually somewhat confusingly titled Battlefield I. It will be released worldwide for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The release date is October 21. On October 18, those who can afford a Deluxe Edition or otherwise access Early Access will be able to play it. October 18 was also the date, that we suspected this afternoon after a leak.
Here is the reveal trailer:
Confirmed features include a “Persistent Squad System,” which allows players to travel together from server to server with their squad.

Confirmed melee weapons include the shovel, sabre, bayonet, and club. Announced vehicles include tanks, light tanks, boats, ships, biplanes, bombers, horses, and more. Gas masks are also expected to be usable.
64 players fight on land, in water, and in the air
According to information from the US site Gamespot, multiplayer battles will include up to 64 players and will take place on land, in water, and in the air.
Compared to previous games, the focus of Battlefield I is said to be more on close combat, but also reflect the technological advancements. During World War I, soldiers were confronted with advanced technology from their perspective.
At DICE, they want to counter the stereotype that World War I was fought solely with muskets.
Both the destruction of objects and the ability to customize weapons remain. However, details are still scarce on this front. At E3, the first lucky players should already be able to get their hands on Battlefield I.
