The open beta of Battlefield 1 is getting an update today for the PC and PS4 version – what’s behind it?
Update: At 11:00 AM, the PS4 version of Battlefield 1 will also receive an update. Here, as with the PC version, around 10 minutes of server down-time is expected.
The developers of Battlefield 1 just announced on Twitter that there will be an update today, on September 7, at 10:00 AM. This update is intended only for the PC version of the open beta. As part of this update, the servers will be unavailable for approximately 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, the developers did not provide more detailed information. In the last update, there were no patch notes, so players had to figure out for themselves which features were changed. Among other things, the time limit for both game modes was removed. Today’s update could be in preparation for an additional map. In recent days, the Twitter account of Battlefield directed players to the official forums to make suggestions for alternative maps.
The update today is expected to have an estimated server down time of 10 minutes. Whether further updates for the console will follow is currently unclear.
According to the latest information, through this update all weapons/items/loadouts available in the beta are unlocked. You do not have to buy these, but can choose and try them freely.
