As a PS4 player, you don’t need a paid subscription to participate in the beta of Battlefield 1 .
The open beta version of Battlefield 1 starts tomorrow, on August 31, 2016. There, players can extensively test the game without a beta code and take a closer look at cool features like dynamic weather or horses with distinct characters.
The developers have now confirmed via Twitter that as a “PlayStation 4” player, you do not need a paid subscription for online services (PlayStation Plus) to play the Battlefield 1 beta. However, it’s different for Xbox One players.
“Xbox One” players must pay
The official Twitter account of Battlefield has answered many fans’ questions in recent hours. It has been clarified that no PS Plus account is required to play the Battlefield 1 beta on PS4. To play the beta on Xbox One, similar to most other multiplayer titles on this console, an “Xbox Live Gold” membership is needed.
With an “Xbox Live Gold” membership, you will receive cool free games next month.
