We show you how to unlock the codex entries in Battlefield 1.
By collecting codex entries, you receive historical facts about World War I, which is the setting of this game. Unlocking the codex entries also rewards you with Battlefield 1 trophies or achievements. You can unlock the entries in both singleplayer and multiplayer modes. There are a total of 198 codex entries, of which we will now show you some. In videos from PowerPyx and PS4Trophies, you can see in the game what you need to do for the entries. Since many codex entries are unlocked automatically during gameplay, we will forgo explaining these. The following are tied to specific challenges.
Codex Entry – German Anti-Tank Tactics
Category: The War

Mission: Exaggerated
Requirement: Destroy all 36 field guns
To unlock this codex entry, you must destroy all field guns without dying. If you die, some guns may no longer be present, and you will need to restart the mission.
Codex Entry – Booby Traps

Mission: Crash
Requirement: Use tripwire bombs to kill 2 enemies.
For this codex entry, you should equip yourself with tripwire bombs at the beginning. You must then follow the truck and place the tripwire bomb in front of it once it stops.
Codex Entry – Flying Guns

Mission: Forte et Fidele
Requirement: Destroy 10 airplanes in 30 seconds with the stationary weapon.
A gun awaits you at the end of the mission with which you must shoot down 10 enemy planes within 30 seconds.
Codex Entry – Geology

Mission: The Runner
Requirement: Defeat 5 enemies with rifle grenades.
Since the grenade rifles have very little ammunition, you will find 2 of them in the mission. 1 is to the right at the starting point, and the 2nd can be found in the main target building.
Codex Entry – Drip Rifle

Requirement: Defeat 10 enemies with a secondary weapon.
For this codex entry, you can equip the Howdah Pistol at the starting point. It counts as a secondary weapon and is strong enough to easily kill 10 enemies.
Codex Entry – Desert Vehicle

Mission: Hear the Desert
Requirement: Destroy 3 vehicles without being detected.
At the beginning of the mission, you will find dynamite on the right in the tent. Distribute the dynamite to the 3 vehicles and then blow them up.
Codex Entry – Tank Theft
Category: The War

Mission: Breakdown
Requirement: You must find all engine parts without being seen.
Enemies must not see you while you collect the engine parts.
Codex Entry – Pilot for Bess
Category: The War

Mission: Fog of War
Requirement: Move through the forest without being seen by enemies.
Enemies must not detect you while you move through the forest.
Codex Entry – Forest of Bourlon

Requirement: The tank must not be damaged while the village is not cleared.
If you drive at the extreme left edge of the map with the tank, you avoid enemies. This way, you can easily unlock the codex entry.
Codex Entry – Dicta Boelcke

Requirement: During the chase, you must not lose the trail
You must follow the plane in front of you closely twice, until the indicator is completely filled for this codex entry.
Codex Entry – No Man’s Land
Category: The War

Mission: Crash
Requirement: Reach No Man’s Land without being recognized.
Here too, stay along the left edge of the screen and you can use distractions to divert enemies. If you do have to clear an enemy, a melee weapon is recommended.
Codex Entry – River Clyde

Mission: Watch Out
Requirement: Kill 5 enemies using grenades
The easiest way is if you draw attention from 5 enemies and they chase you until they stand close together. This way, you can quickly achieve the 5 kills with grenades by throwing the grenades into the group.

Requirement: At least 2 field guns must remain intact
The best way to destroy the trains is to use explosive ammunition like dynamite instead of field guns.
