In December, the first free DLC for Battlefield 1 is already available – A free map is now known.
Until just a few days ago, one could gain a first impression of the game during the open beta phase of Battlefield 1. In the meantime, 9 maps have been leaked, which were found in the code of the alpha version. Whether these maps will be present in the actual game is unknown. However, the official “Battlefield 1” website has now provided information about the new map Giant’s Shadow.
Battlefield 1 free update coming in December
The new map revolves around the battle at the Selle, which took place in the cold autumn from October 17-25, 1918. The war shifts there from the trenches to open land. The wreck of a massive airship casts its shadow over the battlefield. On the map, infantry and tank battles can occur in both open fields and along the riverbanks. You can already get an impression of this map in the official artwork.
In the background, you can see the airship wreck that is mentioned in the map description. Next to a weapon and a spade, you can see that the soldier has a good supply of (presumably) anti-tank grenades. The map description also states that a tank train can still turn the tide of battle. So be prepared for exciting clashes when you play on this map.
This map will be added to the game as part of a free update in December. Therefore, you do not need a Premium Pass for this map. Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 4 (with PS4 Pro), and Xbox One.
