The hero shooter Battleborn is launching into Open Beta – it’s already started on PS4, while PC and Xbox still have to wait a bit.
Battleborn Beta started on PS4, but there are issues
Update: The beta is essentially live. However, there seem to be server issues. Users are reporting that the servers are unavailable. In the meantime, a message from Battleborn came via Twitter, stating that they are working on a server hiccup. Apparently, the demand is greater than expected.
Hey PS4 badasses! The #Battleborn beta servers are experiencing a hiccup and we’re working on a solution now. Thank you for your patience.

Battleborn is already being played on PlayStation 4 today
Among the big wave of hero shooters that are breaking over us is Battleborn, developed by the creators of Borderlands, which pits 25 players against each other in hot PvP battles.
Unlike other hero shooters, such as Overwatch or Paladins, Battleborn offers an extensive campaign that can be experienced together in co-op with friends and is filled with plenty of humor and quirky characters. This is refined by a comprehensive progression system, where characters, skins, and emotes are gradually unlocked, providing motivation for weeks or even months.
The Open Beta for PlayStation 4 starts today, April 8 at 7 PM. Players on Xbox One and PC still have to wait until April 13, then they can join in. The open beta will run on all platforms until April 18.
PS4 players also get some additional benefits: Those who participate in the beta (and then purchase the game) will gain immediate access to the heroine Alani after launch and will later receive free access to the first expansion. Additionally, the new character “Toby” can be tried out on PS4 – these are some advantages that PC and Xbox players do not receive.
How to participate in the Open Beta of Battleborn? Where to download?
Participating in the Open Beta of Battleborn is easy; you just need to download the game from the website or the respective page in the PlayStation or Xbox Store. Although you currently cannot play on PC and Xbox One, most game data can be downloaded in advance so you can jump right in at launch. We have the links to the individual versions of the game here.
The official launch of Battleborn will take place on all platforms on May 3, 2016. After that, the game will be expanded with DLCs, including at least 5 additional story chapters that will tell some side stories about the last shining planet in the galaxy.
