In Baldur’s Gate 3 you can trade with many NPCs that at first glance do not look like traders. How this works and which hidden button you need to pay attention to, you can find out on MeinMMO.
If you have not played any previous games by Larian Studios, this feature might be new to you: You can trade in Baldur’s Gate with NPCs that are not explicitly marked as traders.
How does it work? With the help of a button, you can use the hidden trading feature in the game. During your conversations with numerous NPCs, there is the possibility to trade.
Here you will find 5 helpful tips for your gaming experience:
With this button you can trade with NPCs
Where can I find this button? On the left side of the dialog screen, there are a variety of symbols and shortcuts. Pay attention to the following symbol labeled “Trade, which may appear during a conversation.
Can I trade with all NPCs? Every time you are involved in a dialogue, you should check if the trade button appears. It is not possible with all NPCs, but it is worth keeping your eyes open.
You can even try to buy items directly from quest givers if you do not want to complete the corresponding quest – or if you prefer trading over stealing.
What items can I buy? It is not guaranteed that every NPC with a trading symbol has valuable items for sale. Some only carry small snacks, candles, or bones. At the same time, a mage might have a scroll with the spell “Fireball” and a potion of invisibility in their possession.
Both NPCs could offer you these items for sale – you just need to pay attention to the corresponding symbol.
It is even more pleasant when an NPC unexpectedly offers a powerful dagger or other high-quality items.
