Players in Baldur’s Gate 3 are struggling with a chaotic and overloaded inventory after the latest patch. Many are upset about it. MeinMMO reveals what is behind it.
Since September 22, the extensive Patch 3 for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been available. This patch introduced a long-awaited feature, the magical mirror, which allows players to change the appearance of their character.
However, a small adjustment to the inventory system has upset many players. Since Patch 3 was introduced, important items from dismissed companions are now automatically transferred to the main character. This has led to a crowded and chaotic inventory for some players, which has frustrated many.
Players are upset about a new inventory feature
How do players react to the new feature? Instead of companions keeping their respective items and bags, these items are automatically moved into the main character’s inventory.
This means that players now face the task of managing a cluttered inventory with items they never intended to carry. For those who meticulously organize their inventories, this change has apparently turned the game into a messy and confusing chaos.
In a Reddit post with over 5,000 upvotes and more than 1,000 comments, players expressed their frustration, and player Slyph777 claimed that the new shared stash feature ruined the game for him

Another player named Jasurim also expressed his frustration over the recent changes to the shared stash:
It’s really annoying that every time I switch characters, I get their storage stash and alchemy bags, etc. I don’t want that. I have my own.[…] If they want to improve something, just let me access their supplies while they are in the camp, without them being in the group.[…]

WhollyDisgusting agrees with Jasurim and emphasizes that it is unfair that the majority of players are punished because some players have difficulty managing their important items properly and keeping track of them.
He added that it is a poor solution to a problem caused only by a small percentage of players themselves.
In summary: The feature was introduced to prevent players from losing track of important items. However, the recent changes to the inventory in Patch 3 have sparked passionate discussions among players.
Some players see the current solution as inadequate and prefer alternative approaches, such as accessing companions’ inventories in the camp – without them being in the group.
It remains to be seen whether the developers will respond to this feedback and if they will find an alternative solution.
