The developers of the space MMO Dual Universe have talked about the upcoming updates. These promise a lot of new content and plenty to do for everyone participating in the pre-alpha of the game. The major update is expected to bring some new features and is set to release in May.
Being actively involved in the development process of a game and seeing how it evolves from a pre-alpha to an alpha, to a beta, and finally to the launch version can be exciting. New updates consistently bring new content. This is what’s happening now with the SF MMORPG Dual Universe.
A major update is coming
With an upcoming update, you can look forward to a whole range of new features:
Resource Mining
- You can scan newly discovered planets
- This will tell you what resources are available there
- You will mine the discovered resources and manage them as well
Trading
- The first version of the trading system will go live
- You can sell mined resources on the market to other players
- This first version will not have prices based on supply and demand
Planet Reset
- The surfaces of planets altered by players in previous versions will experience a reset
- This reset will also occur before the start of the alpha
Revamping of Spaceship Controls
- The developers will completely overhaul the controls of the spaceships
- There will be different types of engines that you can attach to the ships
- Each engine will handle slightly differently and be suitable for various activities
- Additional elements like anti-gravity generators and wings will be added to influence the behavior of the ships
The update will have bugs!
The developers explain that testers of the pre-alpha of Dual Universe should expect plenty of bugs. According to current plans, the update is set to be released this month for the space online game.
One of the “fathers” of the MMO EVE Online is also working on Dual Universe.
