It’s time for our MeinMMO format “MMORPG News in Two Minutes”. We summarize the most important news about the best genre in the world. Look forward to the most exciting release of the year, numerous events, dates for WoW, and much more.
The highlights of the week:
- Throne and Liberty officially launched on PC and consoles on October 1, 2024, but it was also the most exciting MMORPG release of the year in recent days.
- Those who have just started with T&L or have finally reached the endgame can find all guides for starting the new online adventure from NCSoft and Amazon Games in our overview.
- Especially regarding the power of guilds and the interaction in group content, there was some trouble during the launch phase of Throne and Liberty. This was compounded by a failure of Amazon Games, under which the communities of several launch servers are now suffering.
- 3 million players are said to have registered for Throne and Liberty at launch. The peak on Steam was 336,300 simultaneous active Steam users.
- The roadmap for the next weeks and months in Throne and Liberty is already available.
- Lastly, something completely different: The German MMORPG Tibia, awarded at the German Developers Award, is expanding its offerings for Free2Play players (via tibia.com) and is entering the world of cryptocurrencies – the FAQ about the new Tibia tokens can be found at tibia.com.
What else has happened? New World Aeternum is preparing for launch on October 15, 2024. All info on start time, changes to servers, crossplay, and cross-progression can be found in our overview. Since Throne and Liberty does not appeal to every MMORPG fan, many are now looking forward to the upcoming launch of Aeternum and the new content for veterans.
