The launch of the pirate MMO Atlas is just around the corner. We will explain what you need to know to be part of the launch of the new MMO.
Are you excited to sail the seas of the MMO Atlas with your own ship, engage in PvP naval battles, fight monsters, and meet over 40,000 players? It all starts on December 21!
The countdown is on
When does it start? Steam lists December 21 as the launch date for Atlas. Originally planned was December 13, but the release has been postponed twice to the 20th and now to the 21st.
So it appears that Atlas will start a little late on December 21 at 12:00 AM. However, keep an eye on the Steam page just in case. After all, Atlas has already been postponed twice.
Is there a preload? No. Since Atlas is still in Early Access, there is no preload. Steam generally does not offer preloads for EA titles.
How large is the download? The developers have not yet commented on the size of the download. However, rumors in the Steam forum suggest that you will need to download around 100 GB.
How accurate this is, cannot be said at the moment.
Is Atlas coming to PS4 and Xbox One? The Early Access version is initially only starting on PC. However, Atlas is expected to be available on Xbox One through the Game Preview program in early 2019. There has been no discussion about a PS4 version yet.
Attention: Early Access!
What is the price of Atlas? The price has not yet been determined and will only be announced at the start of the Early Access phase.
Choose your server: After the download, you will create an account and then choose whether you want to play on the PvP or PvE server. Depending on whether you are interested in fighting other players, you will choose one of the servers.
What does the Early Access version offer? According to the developers, the Early Access version of Atlas is fundamentally feature-complete. This means you can essentially play the entire MMO.
Of course, there will still be optimizations, bug fixes, and adjustments, as well as further content. Especially the balancing will see significant changes.
How long will the Early Access phase last? Studio Wildcard announced that the Early Access phase will last about two years.
