Our YouTuber Refaser takes a look at the MMORPG Asta and reveals what the game has to offer – and what it does not.
ASTA – Solid MMORPG fare for weaker PCs
A few weeks ago, “ASTA: The War of Tears and Winds” also started its open beta phase here in the West. “Our” YouTuber Refaser took this as an opportunity to take a closer look at the game that was once marketed here in the West as the “Korean World of Warcraft.”
He particularly recommends the game to players with older computers, as ASTA has comparatively very low requirements for processing power:
- CPU: Intel Pentium 4 with 3.2 GHz or higher
- RAM: 2 GB
- GPU: GeForce 9600 GT / Radeon HD 3800
- HDD: 14 GB of free disk space
In many MMORPGs, a lot of fun is lost if the computer cannot handle the graphical load; Refaser particularly cites examples like Blade & Soul and Black Desert that thrive on their visuals. Since ASTA, like World of Warcraft, has graphics that are reminiscent of comics, it still looks “good” on lower settings, even when you dial down details and other frills a bit.
However, ASTA is also designed more for beginners who want a solid MMORPG experience and long for the “old days” of the genre. There are no particularly big surprises in the game, but the combat system, crafting, and raids are solid and provide players with exactly what many yearn for: solid MMORPG comfort food with a classic quest system and group-oriented endgame content.
